We went to Monkey island on the last trip to Can Gio and apparently the keepers heard the Americans and we got to feed the monkeys. It was interesting to have them sitting around you and trying to pry the food from my hand because I wasn’t feeding them fast enough. I hope we can have enough time to stop back there this next trip as well.

Vietnam has been on my list for a really long time, unfortunately one time that I was supposed to go via Thailand, there was a political disturbance in the country. Thank you for sharing detailed information. I will refer to it when I plan next.

In reply to Adrenaline Romance. I agree with your sentiment regarding the monkeys' change in behavior due to the visitors. Vietnam is not the cleanest country but it's getting better (albeit very slowly). I see the new generation's passion for saving Earth and providing greater awareness for recycling.

Of course visiting Gio Island is worth it! There are monkeys! They are so cute and your photos of them are fantastic. I’m glad you point out not to feed or touch them. Too many people forget that the animals at parks like this are wild animals and can hurt you. We were in a park in Hong Kong and I got chased and screamed at by a monkey like this. I was trying to takes it’s photo from a distance. Apparently it didn’t appreciate it.
