We’ve been to Bali many times and include a stay in Seminyak. Seminyak is a hip and trendy coastal beach area with tons of restaurants, beach clubs, and shopping.
If you’re looking for cheap places to stay in Seminyak, then you’ve come to the right place.
Whether it’s for 1 or 2 nights, we like to stay in this area the day before we depart Bali to return to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (where we live), or extend our travels to another city in Southeast Asia or Indonesia. Seminyak is only 30 minutes away from the international airport.
While the Seminyak resorts are splurge-worthy, we prefer more affordable accommodations, either guesthouses or hotels, in the $25-$40 USD range per night.

We’ve personally stayed at our recommended places and paid for the rooms, so there aren’t any sponsored posts here. Therefore, you’ll get our inside scoop on these accommodations. Plus, we’re including places that were on our shortlist.
Some of the places that we’ve stayed at include breakfast and others do not. It’s not a problem for us since the main Seminyak area has many incredible cafes and places for brunch.
What we love about the lower accommodation cost is that it saves budget. So, we can use the funds to eat at various restaurants (Made’s Warung is one of our favorites in Seminyak) and visit attractions.

1. CR Tris Homestay

CR Tris Homestay is where we stayed on our first visit to Seminyak. We stayed here for one night.
This low-key homestay has two floors of rooms and is one of the cheapest accommodations we’ve stayed in Seminyak.
It’s conveniently located less than five minutes away from the main street, Jl Raya Seminyak, by walking. You can easily find restaurants and cafes along the main road.
If you’re a light sleeper, then you may want to consider this place. You won’t hear much noise from the road. Although, you may hear the roosters crowing in the morning.
Each of the rooms has a comfortable large bed, air-conditioning, wifi access, a private bathroom, and a patio with chairs.
There is a communal kitchen to make tea, coffee, or light cooking. We didn’t use the kitchen but read reviews that guests enjoyed having it available.

- Beautiful view of the garden from the room.
- Seminyak Beach is the closest beach to the homestay at 1.3 kilometers (.80 miles) away and can get there in 15-20 minutes by walking.

- Breakfast is not included in the room price.

- Since you’re at a homestay, there isn’t a worker at the front desk to ask questions. But, you can find someone on-site to ask for help.

2. Dikubu Belong Seminyak

Dikubu Belong Seminyak is a small guesthouse that is very affordable in the Seminyak area. It has four rooms on the second level of the complex.
The owner is friendly and welcomed us to the guesthouse. He also walked us to our room and shared essential details on how things work.
The rooms have a high ceiling so this place looks large. There is a large bed, sofa, and an ensuite bathroom (which looks modern). In addition, the air-conditioning and wifi work well here.
Outside of each room is a wicker chair to rest and enjoy the view of the garden area.
Even though the location of this guesthouse is close to the main road, Jl Sunset Road, it’s a quiet area. You’ll hear cars pass by once in a while.
If you want to head to the main Seminyak area along Jl Raya Seminyak, then you’ll need to walk about 8 minutes from the guesthouse.
We stayed here for two nights as it’s the minimum requirement for this place.
Dikubu Belong Seminyak is one of the cheaper places to stay in Seminyak
Highlights
- Clean rooms.
- Huge shower area.
- Seating in front of the room to relax.
- Beautiful walkway to the rooms and a nice garden area.
- Double Six Beach is the nearest beach at 2 km away and will take 25 minutes to walk there from Dikubu Belong.
Some Things to Consider
- There is a minimum of a 2-night stay.
- It’s an 8-minute walk to reach Jl Raya Seminyak, so it’s a bit further out.
- Breakfast is not included in the price, but you can pay extra for breakfast.
- No pool.
- Housecleaning is not done during your stay.

3. Kubu Cempaka Seminyak

Kubu Cempaka Seminyak is a small and budget-friendly hotel that has rooms on two floors. It’s conveniently located less than a 5-minute walk from Jl Raya Seminyak.
You won’t hear much noise around this hotel as it’s tucked in a back of a small residential street. Although, you may hear roosters in the early morning.
The rooms are a typical size with a large bed, air-conditioning, wifi access, an ensuite bathroom, and a safe.
Depending on which room you’re staying in, there is either a balcony or an outdoor patio area with seats. Some rooms overlook the hotel’s pool.
The outdoor dining area is where breakfast is served. The breakfast size is generous with your choice of nasi goreng (fried rice), mie goreng (fried noodles), pancake with honey, eggs, cereal, or bread basket, and tea or coffee. Fruit is included in some of the room prices.
The Indonesian breakfast at Kubu Cempaka Seminyak is delicious!
You can also order lunch and dinner and have drinks here at any time.
The main highlight of this place is the pool. Many guests relax on the sun loungers and under umbrellas or swim in the early morning or late afternoon. Ask one of the front desk workers for towels.
We stayed here for two nights.

- Seminyak Beach is 1.8 kilometers (1.1 miles) away and will take 20 minutes to walk there.

- Rooms and bathrooms are on the older side.
- If sensitive to noise, you may be awakened by people swimming in the early morning.

4. Brown Feather Hotel Seminyak
Brown Feather Hotel is a small boutique hotel in Seminyak that has stylish rustic decor. Think natural hues and furniture. It’s perfect for those who love Instagram-worthy places to stay.
The rooms have an ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning, and wifi. There are suites available if you want a larger room.
When staying here, you can have breakfast which is included in the price. There is a choice of Indonesian food or croissant.
One of the highlights of this place is that you can also relax and swim in the pool at any time. Unfortunately, there aren’t any lounge chairs around the pool.
This hotel is located along Jl Batu Belig so this area has tons of restaurants, cafes, and spas to check out.
The daily cost to stay here is closer to $40 per night, but you can find deals depending on your time of visit.

5. Grandmas Plus Hotel Seminyak
Grandmas Plus Hotel is a smaller chain hotel in Bali with budget-friendly pricing. There are other locations in Legian and Denpasar (near the airport).
The Seminyak location is convenient as it’s 300 meters away from Seminyak Beach. You can walk here to see the sunset or hang out at one of the beach clubs for the nightlife.
The private rooms are considered smaller, but the functional design makes the living space work. There is an ensuite bathroom, wifi, and air-conditioning. All the rooms have an inspirational quote on the wall to brighten the day.
Breakfast is included and you can choose from various food.
While you’re staying here, there is a restaurant, Dua Sisi Kitchen & Bar with live music starting at 6:30pm.
The hotel has an on-site spa, DeNyuh Spa, to pamper yourself with a facial, body massage, body scrub, or other beauty treatments.

- Very close to Seminyak Beach as it’s 300 meters (.19 miles) away and will take 5 minutes to walk to.
- Breakfast is included in the room price.
- There is a small pool here.
- The front desk is available 24/7.
Some Things to Consider
- Rooms are on the smaller side so it may be tight for some guests.
- Thin walls so you will hear noise from other guests and live music from the restaurant. Music should end between 10:00pm to 11:00pm.

6. Sleepwell Seminyak
Sleepwell Seminyak is a small, budget hotel, conveniently located next to the main street, Jl Raya Seminyak.
Although this hotel is in a small alleyway, it’s just around the corner to reach Seminyak’s main road so you can have easy access to the restaurants and shopping. As mentioned in the introduction, this place is right across from Made’s Warung, one of our favorite places to eat in the Seminyak area.
The rooms’ minimalist decor provides a comfortable place to stay. Each room has a large bed, ensuite bathroom, wifi, air-conditioning, and a safe.
Breakfast is included in the price. Guests rave about the Western and Indonesian breakfast options here.

7. The Aswana Seminyak
The Aswana Seminyak is an affordable boutique hotel in Seminyak to stay at. There are two floors of rooms here.
Guests rave about how this hotel is centrally located and only a 1-minute walk to Jl Raya Seminyak main street.
The comfy beds and contemporary designs are the highlights of this place. Each room has an ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning, wifi, and a safe. Some of the rooms have a view of the pool.
Guests can enjoy the pool, albeit it’s a bit small. There is also an on-site cafe to grab some coffee in the morning.
